John Cranko Schule — Stuttgart Ballet School — is one of the most influential and prestigious ballet schools in the world, founded in 1971 by the famous choreographer John Cranko. Its uniqueness lay in the creation of the first continuous professional classical dance training program in post-war West Germany — from initial training to a state diploma. Originally conceived as a training center for the Stuttgart Ballet, the school gained the status of a State Ballet Academy and professional school in 1973. Thanks to its close ties with the company, outstanding teachers, and the highest level of training, the school has maintained a global reputation for decades, producing artists for leading ballet companies around the world.
