Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu (Liceu Higher Conservatory of Music) is a music education school founded in Barcelona in 1838. It is the oldest school in Catalonia. It is recognized as a state higher conservatory, and many of the most famous Catalan singers have studied in its vocal classes. It received the European Award for Excellence from the European Development Foundation.
In 2008, a new Conservatory building was opened in a modern complex on Carrer Nou de la Rambla, equipped with everything necessary for music education in the modern world. During its concert cycles, the Auditorium has established itself as one of the best chamber halls in Barcelona.
